Where do you source your ingredients and materials?
We order all our supplies from Canadian wholesale suppliers. When we are able to, we try and source as locally as possible.
Where do you make all your products?
All Essentials by Nature products are handcrafted in Edmonton, Alberta. We have a production site on the south side of Edmonton.
Special care and hygiene procedures are followed in creating all products. We follow AHS guidelines when manufacturing all products.
What precautions should I take when using essential oils?
All our products are for external use only. Never apply undiluted essential oils directly on your skin. Please be aware of your allergies/conditions and always preform a skin patch test before use.
If you are under the care of a physician for any disease or illness, please consult them before using essential oils.
Keep essential oils away from the eyes. If splashed accidentally, rinse immediately with tepid water. If discomfort persists, seek medical advise.
Citrus oils can photo-toxic. Avoid using before or during sun exposure.
Rosemary oil should be avoided in hypertension and epilepsy.
Clove oil and Wintergreen oil should be avoided if taking blood thinners.
Anyone with respiratory illnesses such as asthma, COPD and allergies should be cautious when using peppermint, eucalyptus and rosemary oil.
Are your products certified organic?
We use many organic ingredients in our products. All our products are made with the best natural, plant-based ingredients and have gone through extensive testing.
Can I use Essentials products on my children?
When using essential oils with children, they must be diluted properly and we take extra care to make sure all our products labelled as safe for children and diluted correctly.
I'm pregnant, can I use essential oils?
Although some oils are safe to use when pregnant and nursing, we advise you to use caution and speak with your doctor before using.
Some essential oils to stay away from when pregnant are as follows:
Nutmeg, Rosemary, Basil, Clary Sage, Juniper Berry, Cinnamon leaf, Wintergreen, Aniseed, Thyme, Peppermint.
Can I use essential oil products with my pets?
Some essential oils are not safe for our furry and feathered friends. Please always use essential oils with caution and speak with your veterinarian before use.
How should I store my essential oil and skincare products and how long do they last?
Keep your essential oil and skincare products out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
Store in a cool, dry place and ensure the cap in securely closed.
All our products are made with natural ingredients and do not last as long as store bought products. We encourage a shelf life of 1 year.
Some of our products last longer than others depending on if that are oil or cream based.
